We wanted to create something badass that felt more akin to the streetwear space than a sports capture. My contributions to the project including bespoke graphic and logomark creation along with asset selection, retouching notes and guidance surrounding the post production process. https://henrylove.work/Nike-ACG Nike ACG Trail Running Fall 2023 Creative DirectorDirected from concept to completion our primary Trail Running campaign for summer 2024. My concept was simple: trail running is a form of escapism — it’s as much about the environment as it is the product — let’s transport our consumer to the experience of running outdoors by featuring the natural elements as heavily as we feature the shoes and the gear. We had three capture buckets to execute this direction and weighed them all equally in terms of superiority: product, environment and subject. Rather than feature hero athletes let’s reach out to the kid within all of us who fell in love with the game shooting hoops in the driveway. We shot everything on film, from motion capture to product stills, to give it that nostalgic look and feel and create something more tangible for the consumer to hold onto. designed to honor Nike’s co-founder Bill Bowerman. The goal behind our capture was to create visuals that felt nostalfic and founded in heritage to properly reflect the purpose of the product creation. We shot everything on film and leaned into the natural imperfections of the process -- choosing to leave frames and heavy grain + minor scuffing on all assets -- to create something tangible that you could hold and feel. First, we had to build the world. We developed a bespoke campaign identity for the C1ty brand at large. Then we had to take it to the streets. We executed a campaign photoshoot and video capture centered around our protagonist: the doer and our setting: NYC. First we shot a teaser video to promote the launch and establish some hype around the product. Then we captured longer form video content along with on body stills to promote the sneaker upon release. The result? A full scale launch featuring IRL activations and stunts, OOH campaigns across NYC, social takeovers across Nike’s digital channels and our dotcom marketplace. The task was to build a unique world for each team and their Rivalry Program specific uniform. We developed holistic art direction for all eight teams featuring lighting, posing, mood and capture direction for photoshoots along with a comprehensive visual center per team featuring typography, color, design elements including patterns and textures, layout systems for print, social and out of home executions and image treatment parameters. For each club we also created a teaser video — to build anticipation for the release of the uniform — and a reveal video, to release it. We begin by executing a holistic visual center to define all creative components of Nike’s visual language around the event. Including bespoke type, palette, iconography, layout system, design elements including textures and original illustrations and messaging pillars and hierarchy. All elements were applied to thousands of placements digitially and physically including football fields, retail placements, billboards throughout the city of New Orleans, social posts across Nike + channel partners and more. Below you’ll find a recap video demonstrating the gravity of the scale of the campaign along with a few pages pulled directly from our visual center document showing how we went about defining the creative. DirectorDeveloped the campaign identity for the Nike x NFL Rivalries program at large along with eight bespoke identity packages for each of the initial eight teams used to launch the program globally. The task was to build a unique world for each team and their Rivalry Program specific uniform. We developed holistic art direction for all eight teams featuring lighting, posing, mood and capture direction for photoshoots along with a comprehensive visual center per team featuring typography, color, design elements including patterns and textures, layout systems for print, social and out of home executions and image treatment parameters. creative for Nike’s 2024 campaign regarding the USATF trials in Eugene. The goal was to create striking imagery to properly encapsulate the gravity and beauty of the moment. We felt going into the capture that a lot of images around running looked and felt the same. We shot the entire event on film and chose to define the pillars of our capture around a high-art approach: focusing on negative space, authentic moments devoid of posing and intentional composition and subject placement.
